OSU offers community a look at Korean culture

CORVALLIS - Oregon State University will offer the community a glimpse of Korean culture on Thursday, Oct. 21.

Action begins at 11 a.m. in the OSU Memorial Union Lounge as Korean arts, crafts and clothing are placed on display. At 6 p.m., the doors to the Memorial Union Ballroom open and Korean Night '99 begins.

The afternoon display is free and open to the public and tickets for the evening festivities are $6 each. Among the events planned for the night are martial arts demonstrations, traditional songs and dance and a snack of a rice beverage and rice pie.

The event is sponsored by the OSU Korean Student Association. The association represents all Korean undergraduate and graduate students at OSU and works to advance the campus Korean community as well as develop relationships among other international societies in the community.
