OSU to host poetry reading

CORVALLIS - Native American author Janice Gould will present an hour-long poetry reading at Oregon State University at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, in the campus Memorial Union, Room 206.

Gould will speak about being a Native American, as well as a lesbian. The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by OSU's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Affairs Task Force.

Gould, who was born 1949 in San Diego, Calif., is the author of two books of poems: "Beneath My Heart " and "Earthquake Weather." She has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and has been published in a number of journals and in anthologies. She is an enrolled member of the Concow - Koyangk'auwi Maidu - tribe.
