OSU names new student ambassador team

CORVALLIS - Oregon State University has selected 10 students to represent the university during the 1999-2000 academic year as Ambassadors for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources. According to Liz Webb of OSU's College of Agricultural Sciences, the student ambassadors represent the university by speaking to high school and community college classes, answering questions about college and career opportunity, sharing their personal experiences with prospective OSU students, and arranging personalized tours of the university. The new OSU ambassadors are:

 

  • AMITY: Megan Prine, a 1996 graduate of Wilson High School (Portland) who is a junior majoring in crop science.

     

  • FIELDS: Jay Kerby, a 1996 graduate of Crane High School who is a junior majoring in rangeland resources.

     

  • KEIZER: Nicole Miller, a 1997 graduate of McNary High School who is a junior majoring in forest recreation.

     

  • NEHALEM: Carrie Koch, a 1995 graduate of Neah-Kah-Nie High School who is a junior majoring in animal sciences, with a dairy specialty.

     

  • PENDLETON: Chris Pahl, a 1997 graduate of Pendleton High School who is a freshman majoring in agricultural and resource economics.

     

  • PORTLAND: Chad Wegner, a 1997 graduate of David Douglas High School who is a sophomore majoring in fisheries and wildlife.

     

  • POWELL BUTTE: om Currier, a 1996 graduate of Crook County High School who is a junior pre-veterinary medicine major in OSU's Department of Animal Sciences.

     

  • SUBLIMITY: Josh Horner, a 1995 graduate of Silverton Union High school who is a junior in agricultural business management.

     

  • WEST LINN: Shari Fluter, a 1996 graduate of West Linn High School who is a junior majoring in horticulture through the international degree program in the OSU Honor's College.

     

  • KANSAS: OLATHE: Cliff Uddenberg, a 1996 graduate of Olathe South High School who is a junior majoring in natural resources (forestry).
