OSU conference to focus on water quality

06/25/1999

CORVALLIS - The 11th annual James Vomocil Water Quality Conference will be held on Nov. 3 at Oregon State University.

It will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the LaSells-Stewart Center on the OSU campus, and is free and open to the public.

"The purpose of the conference is to share the latest research findings on protecting water quality and better understand the factors contributing to water quality problems," said Ron Miner, professor of bioresource engineering at OSU. "This year's conference is particularly important because of the efforts of the various watershed committees and the large number of stream segments listed as water quality impacted."

This annual conference provides an opportunity to hear the results of current water quality related research, talk with researchers, meet with federal state and local water quality agency personnel and discuss shared issues, said Miner.
