Alpaca experts converge on OSU

CORVALLIS - Alpaca aficionados from around the world will meet at Oregon State University on Feb. 7-10 for alpaca training and judging seminars.

The events are a collaboration of the College of Veterinary Medicine at OSU, which is an international leader in camelid medicine and research, and three professional organizations of alpaca owners. Attendees will hear presentations on alpaca fiber quality, production, processing and marketing, among other topics.

The alpaca fiber industry is among the fastest growing agricultural industries in North America. Alpaca experts from Peru, New Zealand, Canada and other locations are among those planning to speak at the meetings.
