OSU banquet likely to leave diners hungry

CORVALLIS - Guests leaving an Oregon State University banquet will probably be hungry, but organizers want Thursday's (March 6) Hunger Banquet to remind diners of the millions of people who live without adequate food or shelter.

The banquet, sponsored by OSU's campus chapter of Habitat for Humanity, begins at 6 p.m. in Westminster House, 23rd Street and Monroe Avenue. Cost is $2 and the "banquet," will likely be no more than a bowl of rice, organizers said. Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity Programs. For reservations or information, contact Linda Paschke at 737-6341.

The evening will include a talk by Daniel Selivonchick, a professor in OSU's Department of Food Science and Technology. Selivonchick will speak about global food problems and world hunger.
