CORVALLIS - Janice R. Leno, an Oregon State University Extension agent and specialist since 1988, has been named department head and program leader for OSU's Extension Home Economics program.
Leno most recently has worked in Extension's personnel and development program. Before that, she was the staff chair and agent in Josephine County with responsibility for the home economics program and for 4-H and youth development.
She came to OSU from Western Washington University, where she specialized in foods and nutrition, resource management, and issues relating to adult development and aging. She also has worked at the University of Nebraska.
Leno has a bachelor's degree in home economics education from South Dakota State University and a master's in food, nutrition and institutional administration from Oklahoma State University.
