OSU names new marketing director

CORVALLIS - A top West Coast business consultant has been named to a new position at Oregon State University.

Jill R. Schuster of Concord, Calif., the managing director of the Northwest Consulting Group in Portland, has been appointed as director of marketing at OSU.

She will begin her new position at OSU in mid-October, according to Bob Bruce, the university's executive director of communications and marketing.

"Jill Schuster will bring extensive marketing experience to OSU from the private sector," Bruce said. "Her responsibility will be to provide leadership and direction to our marketing effort, and to help us become more client-centered as we develop the range of programs and services available to citizens from OSU."

Schuster holds B.A., B.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. Before joining the Northwest Consulting Group in 1995, she served as director of marketing and group brands manager at the San Francisco Bread Co.; director of marketing and customer service at Honey Hill Farms, Concord, Calif.; product manager, Software Publishing Corp., Mountain View, Calif.; brand manager, Nabisco Brands, San Francisco; and brand assistant, Chlorous Co., Oakland.
