CORVALLIS - Paul Farber, professor and chair of the Department of History at Oregon State University, has been elected a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
The AAAS, one of the largest and most prestigious science organizations in the world, began its fellowship program in 1874.
Farber was cited for his research in the history of science, particularly natural history, ornithology and evolutionary ethics. He also was cited for "recognized excellence in teaching, science education and college administration, and for service to the History of Science Society."
An OSU faculty member since 1970, Farber also holds an appointment in the university's Department of Zoology.
