Discovery Lecture Series
On April 29, Adam Braun, Founder and CEO of Pencils of Promise, inspired students and OSU Community members alike to follow their passions while incorporating "For Purpose" philosophies into their professional lives.

Centro Cultural César Chávez Grand Opening
On April 7, 2014 Oregon State University and the community celebrated the grand opening for Centro Cultural César Chávez.

OSU welcomes Dick Butkus!
This 2013 Dad's Weekend visitor was something to write home about!  University Events partnered to bring this legendary Hall of Famer to campus that gave opportunities for students and dads alike.  The public was welcomed to a Q&A session that resulted in a standing ovation, and the Dad's Weekend breakfast was completely sold out.

Happy Birthday Gilkey Hall!
Gilkey Hall celebrates 100 years in 2013.  On June 14 all were invited to help celebrate this milestone.

Lonnie B. Harris Black Cultural Center Groundbreaking
On June 5, 2013 the BCC celebrated and showed appreciation for the building that has served them well since the 1970's.  Over the summer, this building will be moved to a new location so that the new Black Cultural Center can be built in this historic location.

Scholarship and Creativity Fair
On May 30, 2013 the College of Liberal Arts hosted the first ever fair to showcase research and cross collaboration within the college.

Film Screenings
In May of 2013 Oregon State, and the College of Education were able to bring producer Carolyn Brown to Corvallis for a series of screenings of her 30 minute documentary about Damian Trujillo's journey from farm worker to the role of a national televison reporter.

Smithsonian Folkife Festival
In the summer of 2012, OSU was one of 28 Land Grant institutions participating in the nation's premiere tourist attraction in Washington D.C.  As part of recogizing 150 years of the Morrill Act, institutions gathered, along with Arts and Culture south of the Anticostia River and the unfolding of the AIDS quilt, to recognize these elements of our culture.

International Living Learning Center Grand Opening
A building grand opening was held on October 10, 2011.  After the short program and ribbon cutting, attendees were invited into the building for a walking tour.  Each floor of the building was themed with food representing that specific themed region and students in native dress.

Linus Pauling Stamp Event
On March 6, 2008 the United States Postal Service recognized some of the most impressive scientific achievements of the 20th century during their "American Scientists" stamp series.

 

Native American Longhouse Grand Opening
On May 17, 2013 Oregon State University and the community celebrated the grand opening for the new Native American Longhouse.

Native American Cultural Center Groundbreaking
On May 11, 2011, Oregon State University and the community celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Native American Cultural Center.

Groundbreaking for the Centro Cultural Cesar Chavez

The state of Oregon celebrated its 150th birthday on February 14, 2009.

Savor Oregon
On February 11, 2011, Oregon State highlighted food and drink from 20 companies in recognition of the impact Oregon State is making around the state and across the nation.
