The International Living-Learning Center opened on September 6, 2011 and is the new home for INTO Oregon State University and OSU International Programs. This state-of-the-art building offers a world-class student experience where international and domestic students live and learn together in the heart of the OSU campus. The new building includes residential accommodations for more than 300 international and domestic students, 26 classrooms, a cutting-edge auditorium, computer labs, a café, market and comfortable open spaces where students can socialize.
This $52 million, purpose-built center provides students with comfortable, modern, furnished rooms for relaxation and study, and well-equipped communal spaces. The facility is designed to maximize the living and learning experience. The mission of the International Living-Learning Center residence hall is to responsibly educate, encourage and celebrate cultural diversity, personal growth, and respect through communication, involvement and positive community interactions.
A building grand opening was held on October 10, 2011. After the short program and ribbon cutting, attendees were invited into the building for a walking tour. Each floor of the building was themed with food representing that specific themed region and students in native dress.
