Welcome to the 87th year of TRIAD at Oregon State University!
As a member, or former member, of TRIAD, you are familiar with the concept of a faculty club where people can meet others from across campus in a comfortable, collegial setting. You may not know that TRIAD is open to the entire OSU community. Any OSU faculty and staff member (including professional and Extension faculty, classified staff and adjunct faculty) can join TRIAD by filling out a membership application form and paying dues. TRIAD has truly become OSU's faculty and staff club.
You have probably noticed an increasing emphasis on participation in interdisciplinary groups, both for research and for teaching. TRIAD is the one place where members of the OSU community can meet regularly with their colleagues from around campus in an informal setting.
The TRIAD Executive Committee is working to attract new members and to increase the visibility and presence of the TRIAD Club on the OSU campus. We encourage current and former members to attend TRIAD meetings this fall and help us welcome what we hope will be a large group of new active members.
Note that we meet in Memorial Union 211 or 213 as a regular meeting place every week for the 10 weeks of each term. Exceptions are noted in our program calendar.
Lunches for active TRIAD members this year will be $10. Inactive members and their guests will pay $11. Walk-in visitors will pay $11. Please send your $50 membership fee ($20 for new members for the first year) to TRIAD Treasurer Shelly Signs, University Events, 205 Adams Hall, Corvallis , OR 97331. Checks should be made payable to OSU Triad Club.
So, all put Thursdays at noon on your calendar, send in your dues, and enjoy the year!
The TRIAD Executive Committee
TRIAD invites all OSU faculty and staff to join our organization in order to enjoy networking and hearing engaging speakers at our weekly lunch meetings. We seek members with a wide diversity of perspective and backgrounds. If interested, please contact an officer for more information.
We meet weekly on Thursdays when the University is in session, except during the summer, and we have several special functions during the year.
Members are expected to be “active” members — i.e., they attend regularly and perhaps serve on one of the club's committees. In addition to annual dues (pro-rated for new members), members are charged for a minimum of six meals each term. Members may request to be “inactive” for a term if schedules preclude luncheon meetings on Thursday noon (or longer if on sabbatical or other leave). Inactive members are welcome to attend meetings by giving prior notice to the secretary.
