Data Warehouse Basics

Description

This web delivered Computer Based Training (CBT) is the first training step towards receiving access into the OSU Data Warehouse system, and it is required.

The CBT is designed to provide access to materials and assignments used to understand basic navigation and reporting in the BI Query software. The information presented includes building and modifying simple queries, saving and exporting data, formatting and modifying standard reports, setting user preferences, and developing user buttons on the user page.

Prerequisite

Like access in the Banner System (FIS, HRIS, or SIS) is required. We ask that you have completed the related Banner workshops (FIS, HRIS, or SIS) before attending any Data Warehouse course. Data Warehouse Basics is only available online, and you can enroll through the Course Listings link in Professional Development.

Though this workshop does not result in granting any access to any the OSU Data Warehouse models, we recommend that you complete and send in a Request for Access form indicating all your expected Data Warehouse access needs.

This course is only web delivered, and course materials are linked through the CBT.

This CBT, equal access in Banner, and an approved Request for Access form are required for Data Warehouse access.

This course is a prerequisite for the Data Warehouse FIS II(Queries), HRIS , and SIS classes.
