Drupal Boot Camp

Description

Join us for a fun and challenging three-day training event that will include seven of the most popular CWS Drupal 06 workshops as well as some extra training opportunities including: analyzing your own website's needs, planning your own custom content types, and special guest appearances by WebComm and Office of Equity & Inclusion members to answer your content/media development, OSU brand/marketing, and web accessibility questions.

Following is the proposed itinerary for this event (please note, the itinerary is currently under construction times may change slightly pending guest availability):

 

Day 1

  • Video & Discussion: Luke Wroblewski Mobile First Web Development 8:00 am – 9:40 am
  • Developing Site Structures 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Profiling Your Audience & Working within the OSU Brand: WebComm - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
  • Engineering Blocks 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
  • Open Lab 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm


Day 2

  • Form Development with Webform 8:00 am – 9:30 am
  • Video & Discussion: Karen McGrane - Thriving in a World of Change: Future Friendly Content with Drupal 9:45 am - 11:00 am
  • Generating Custom Content Types (start) 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • Lunch 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
  • Generating Custom Content Types (cont.) 1:00 pm – 3:15 pm
  • Web Accessibility with Drupal: Gabe Merrell, Office of Equity and Inclusion 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm


Day 3

  • How to Use Views 8:00 am - 10:30 am
  • Open Lab 10:45 am - 12:00 pm
  • Lunch 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
  • Intermediate Views 1:00 pm – 3:15 pm
  • OSU Themes 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm
  • Drupal Future and Open Q&A with CWS 4:15 pm - 5:00 pm

Please note that the Boot Camp workshops are intended for users who will be working in a site building/administrative capacity.  Classes start at an Intermediate Drupal use level and grow progressively more difficult up through an Advanced level of use.
