Webinar is short for web-based seminar. It is a presentation, lecture, workshop, or seminar that is transmitted over the Internet. Webinars often include interaction/collaboration through the use of polling and question and answer sessions between the presenter and the audience. TAC uses Adobe Connect to broadcast webinars.
Here is a "Getting Started Guide" from Adobe to help you get up to speed as a webinar participant.
We publish our webinar URLs with our TAC Event Calendar listings. Be sure to let us know if you are having any difficulties at all in getting to our online webinars. We're glad to help.
Participants are encouraged to follow this link to test their system prior to attending the webinar to ensure a smooth interaction.
Our upcoming webinars are listed in the column on the right. You may also view them here.
This diagram below is meant to give you an idea of what you should expect to see when attending a TAC webinar. For most TAC webinars, only presenters are granted microphone access for delivering audible content. However, we always greatly encourage the use of the chat feature to increase interaction among the participants and presenters and to allow participants the ablity to comment and ask any questions they may have throughout the course of the presentation.
