Our "Simple Series" of workshops is designed to get you started using or applying a technology as simply as possible. Simple Series workshops include:

Simple Audio Workshop - Learn how to capture audio and utilize it in the classroom. Using recording equipment that can be checked out from the TAC Lab the most basic process from start to finish will be covered; from recording in the field to making the finish recording available to students and playing back in the classroom.

Simple Video Workshop- An introduction to utilizing self produced videos in the classroom. Starting with basic filming strategies to readying the video for playback this workshop will cover simple methods for working with video.

Mastering the Basics PDF Print

 

Blackboard: Mastering the Basics - This workshop is for faculty and staff new to the Blackboard environment. The objective of this workshop is to provide participants with the knowledge and tools needed to access and configure their Blackboard courses; put text and image content into Blackboard; build a discussion board forum; and start using the online assessment tools. No special technical knowledge is presumed.

Powerpoint/Slideshow: Mastering the Basics - Microsoft PowerPoint is a powerful tool for creating visual components for lecture and presentation. Other presentation tools are available and this session will address general techniques applicable to many such tools. This session focuses on the fundamentals of the current version of PowerPoint and presentation values that add to the quality of your slide show. The session will address visibility issues, slide composition, effort-saving steps, and posting slides to the web and Blackboard.

Quizdom: Mastering the Basics - Qwizdom is the Audience Response System (ARS) tool that is supported by OSU Media Services. Instructor software and hardware is available from Media Services. Students buy individual remotes from the OSU Bookstore. Successful participants of this workshop will be able to add Quizdom questions to PowerPoint slides, set up a Qwizdom class list to register remotes, and design a teaching model for using Qwizdom in class. No prior technical experience is required.
