Leading Edge
The overall purpose of OSU Leading Edge is to develop leadership skills and capacity through interactive and informative classes/workshops, reflection and application. Leading Edge is a flexible course — you attend the sessions you’re interested in at times that are convenient to you. Choose from a wide variety of workshops!
You can drop in on workshops or register for the course. To register, sign up for CSSA 406 Project Credit/Leading Edge. The syllabi are available below. Fall Term 2004 CRN's are as follows:

Desired Student Outcomes
- Students will engage in four core requirements and choose six electives from the schedule above. These courses can be taken over the course of as many as three terms.
- Students will be familiar with leadership and personal development opportunities available at Oregon State University.
- Students will be exposed to leadership and personal development as it relates to broader concepts of ethics, multiculturalism and civic involvement.
- Students will select from a broad choice of learning topics that meet their current interest and growth objectives.
- Students will experience self-authorship in the learning process.
- Students will reflect on the application of course material to their experiences.
- Students will create a personal development plan.
Course Syllabi
Pass/No PassStudents complete a Learning Contract indicating the amount of time they will take to complete course requirements. These requirements include attending 10 (20 for 2 credits) workshops (including 4 core requirements), completing two session review/journals and submitting a personal development plan. These requirements can be completed in (up to) three terms. This credit can be repeated.
Graded—One or two credits over one or two terms
Students complete all of the above requirements, identify and meet with a mentor and complete an application project.
