India Nite 2003 SHINES!

Every year the organizers of India Night develop a concept and then bring it to life. On May 3, 2003, the India Student Association presented the "The India Nite Show...with Jai Leno!"

You guessed right! "The India Nite Show" was created on the lines of the popular Late Night show "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". Their very own desi (Indian) Jai Leno hosted the show and welcomed special guests including famous film and sport personalities, leading women's movement activists and politicians...all of them directly IMPORTED FROM INDIA! Along with this hilariously scripted show, the audience was treated to food, skits and spectacular dance, song and solo performances.

India Night was a sellout; one thousand OSU and Corvallis community members filled LaSells to capacity. The India Student Association educated the audience about Indian culture, customs, and traditions with loads of entertainment, laughter, music, songs, dances and of course.... a HAPPY ENDING!

For all of the hours of planning, practicing, cooking and performing the India Student Association was awarded two Student Involvement Recognition Awards: Poster of the Year and Cultural Event of the Year. Check out the India Nite website.
