Responding to Distressed and Disruptive Student Behavior

A key component of successful classroom management is knowing how to identify, respond to, and interact with disruptive and distressed student behavior. This is equally as important for OSU office and support staff who engage with students on a regular basis. If your college, department or unit would like a presentation on this topic, key staff members from Student Life, Student Conduct, Public Safety, and Counseling and Psychological Services will come as a team to your location.

The presentation will be tailored to the needs of your unit and will provide the following:

  • Tools to help identify, respond to and manage distressed and disruptive behavior
  • Tips to help you be more confident and prepared for situations that might arise
  • Knowledge of campus and community resources for referral
Length -- between 15 minutes and 1 hour For more information or to request a presentation for your class, please contact Resa Cochran in the Conduct office by phone (541-737-3656) or e-mail.
