Kristi Johnston - Student Affairs Service Award 2003-04
Statement of Wonderfulness
In Celebration of
Kristi Johnston, or “KJ” as she is called, was nominated by her RecSports co-workers because of her invaluable contributions to their department on a daily basis. KJ is the Administrative Assistant for Programs and Marketing at RecSports. She manages the “RecServices” area where RecSports participants and guests gather information about what RecSports has to offer, she signs them up for memberships, registers them for programs and gives them personal tours of the building. Kristie has been a significant contributor to the RecSports Mission and Vision Committee. She has worked as a member of a Business Review group that planned for better efficiency in business practices, and assisted with the tour leaders and RecNight student leadership team. Her commitment and purposeful when it comes to student learning. She is fair, patient and open in her work with student employees. One of KJ’s specialties is the way she approaches customer service – she has a caring style that comes through in every interaction she has. She also specializes in spreading her particular brand of excitement about celebration! She has been known to be called the “Department Mom,” as she never lets a birthday go by without baking a cake (including her famous “Death by Chocolate” dessert). She goes out of her way to help anyone with anything, and is always willing to pitch in and try something new. Kristi has a wonderful spirit, a great attitude and truly cares about the students and staff she comes in contact with. Congratulations Kristi for being the 2004 Student Affairs Service Awards recipient from the Department of RecSports!
