Statement of Wonderfulness
In Celebration of
As the Director of Residential Life, Cindy has brought her commitment, passion, drive, exceptionality and solidity of purpose to her unit and has moved UHDS forward with direction and inspiration. She has been the heart and soul, as well as the voice, for residential life over the past few years. Her ability to interact with students, administrators and colleagues has created an inclusive community which values collaboration and honors connectedness.
Cindy has not only been of great service to the housing community, but has been involved with and an advocate for several causes and initiatives on campus. Her work with the Critical Incidence Response Team, the Faculty Senate, the Healthy Campus Initiative, the PRIDE Center, the Suicide Awareness Task Force and many other committees and groups is a demonstration of her core belief that students have the right to grow, thrive, and strive for excellence in an environment which is conducive to student success.
While Cindy is a woman of many talents, one of her greatest abilities is in helping those around her reach for far more than what they thought possible of themselves. With a keen sense of challenge and support, Cindy pushes her colleagues to do their best for the betterment of the students they work with. Her leadership skills and consistent positive actions have garnered trust from those with whom she interacts.
Cindy is simply a joy to be around. Her infectious and optimistic energy pours into her work and into the lives of those she touches. She is a caring, genuine, kind and authentic person that is constantly looking for ways to grow and develop herself and those around her. As one co-worker put it, she’s “just fabulous.”
