Amy Flint - Student Awards Service Award 2007-08

Statement of Wonderfulness

In Celebration of

Amy Flint
Assistant Registrar

Amy provides leadership and supervision of essential services: the management of all student records, registration, grading, transcripts, graduation auditing, enrollment/degree verification, Veteran’s file management and NCAA records support. She also oversees all document and transaction processing in person, electronically, and utilizing document management technologies. She is responsible for special programs; shares in the responsibility for petitions to the academic regulations; and ensures enforcement of applicable university, state and federal regulations and laws.

Amy is involved with almost every major initiative in the Registrar's Office, including most recently the creation of training videos for registration, wait listing, second week adds and other online tasks that students often have questions about.

These are some things that Amy’s colleague had to say about her:

“She is dependable and follows through with every task she does; she provides outstanding help to every student, faculty member, and staff person who asks for her help; she never does the bare minimum for any task, but always exceeds expectations; she is kind, patient, and understands the different backgrounds and points of view of persons who come to our office. She not only does her job in outstanding fashion, but she is a delight to work with and it is absolutely impossible to discourage her. She is great.”

“She is absolutely reliable, and in every instance is courteous and thorough. She knows Registrar Office processes very well, and manages her areas of responsibility with great expertise and a wonderful outlook. She has a great perspective and an even better sense of humor.”

“She is open, just, disciplined and caring and that is demonstrated with all of us that work with her every day on a daily bases. When she is listening to an issue with a coworker or customer she really listens, evaluates all that has been said and when needed does it in a sensitive way.  When you work with someone everyday all day long you get the best sense of who that person is and what they are about. She is a very sharp, innovative and intuitive.”

“She has a wonderful personality, she is very smart, is great to work with, and regards every person she deals with respect and cooperation. She is an excellent colleague and is a great example of the intelligence, open-mindedness, collegiality and dependability that is prevalent at OSU.”

“Amy, from the beginning has had the trust of her co-workers. She has been there to help who ever has needed it. In dealing with the public, she has demonstrated calm, and understanding. She let’s the customer know that she will do what she can to assist them. Most of all we can count on her for support, for answers and for her logic. “

When asked to give one word that would describe her, Amy’s colleagues most often mentioned were hardworking, trustworthy and dedicated. One aspiring comedian said supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and wonderfullestandmostoutstanding (all one word) and proceeded to remind me that I didn’t say they had to be real words.

Congratulations Amy. You ARE Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
