In the Spring of 2007, the university acquired a small house by the corner of 15th and Western, that was adjacent to campus. Over the Summer, the Student Sustainability Initiative restored the dwelling and converted it into a center that might house student sustainability efforts on campus. In this way, it was modeled after the cultural centers that existed. To make this new Student Sustainability Center deserving of its name, a composting system, organic garden, and small solar panel were installed.

Today, the Student Sustainability Center houses the Student Sustainability Initiative, and is a place for environmentally conscious individuals and groups to come together to network and exchange ideas. We have a growing library of books, brochures, and periodicals covering a wide range of topics.

Reserve the space for meetings, movie nights, and more. Feel free to stop by and check out the garden, recycling system, or growing library of books, brochures, and periodicals.

While our building is inaccessible to community members who are wheelchair users, we ensure that all of our events, meetings, and programs will be held in accessible locations when requested. You can request accommodations by contacting ssi.admin@oregonstate.edu. We look forward to moving into our new accessible location by Fall Term 2014

Everyone is welcome!
