Sage Garden Docents

Become a SAGE Garden Docent. Volunteer at SAGE, the Starker Arts
Garden for Education, to help kids to plant, tend and harvest food.
Over 1,000 children a year explore SAGE and learn to connect food on
their plate to food in the garden. SAGE Garden Docents help lead the
groups of kinder-3rd grade students who visit SAGE each fall and
spring. If you like working with children and believe kids should
know where food comes from, consider joining our team of SAGE Garden
SAGE Garden Docents:
Commit to volunteer at SAGE 1 day per week (a Tuesday, Wednesday or
Thursday) from 8:30-12:15 for every week between September 15th and
Attend a SAGE Docent Training the week of September 9th. Docents are
asked to attend a training on the same day of the week (Tuesday
September 10th, Wednesday September 11th, or Thursday September 12th)
that they will be volunteering as a Docent.
SAGE Garden Docents get:
Experience working with children in an outdoor setting as you lead
small groups of students through SAGE garden activity stations.
Training in garden-based activities and managing kids in an outdoor setting.
A key role in the Corvallis Farm to School effort!
