The budget guidelines are revised each year to adapt to better and improved budgeting practices as well as each year’s new or revised institutional policies. Completion and revision of the budget guidelines are one of the SIFC's main jobs during the summer and fall terms.
These annually revised guidelines provide the fee funded departments with guidance on what is requested by the student fees committee and asks for specific information from each organization regarding services and costs to students.
Budgets are due to the SIFC in late January. Budget presentations, the SIFC open hearing, and the ASOSU Joint Session are held in February. After this process takes place, students make a final fee level recommendation that is passed on to the Oregon State University Board of Trustees for final approval and implementation.
