SARPA
At OSU, SARPA stands for Sexual Assault Response and Prevention.
The Purpose of SARPA is:
- to function as a multidisciplinary network to provide caring and effective response to sexual assault survivors;
- to develop and implement effective communication within and across agencies while protecting the confidentiality of involved students;
- to develop written guidelines describing policies and procedures for sexual assault response within and between agencies; and
- to utilize internal and external input and feedback to assess sexual assault response, identify needs, and work collaboratively to enhance our resources and services.
- ensuring and supporting survivor's safety, confidentiality, and empowerment to make informed choices and to determine their process of recovery and healing;
- ensuring due process for persons accused of sexual assault through the legal system and campus disciplinary system; and
- offering support services to individuals and/or groups connected with survivors and the accused to facilitate healing within our community and the rebuilding of safety and trust.
