OUS Best Practices Conference
Oregon State University is pleased to host the Fourth-Annual Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Best Practices Conference on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013. Presented by the Oregon University System, the one-day conference is free and open to any individuals who are involved in the prevention, response and/or reporting of sexual misconduct.
Attendees at this conference will have the opportunity to:
- Learn from national experts
- Share promising practices occurring in Oregon
- Address current concerns related to prevention, response and reporting
- Work with colleagues from across the state
This year’s keynote speaker is Rachel Griffin, PhD (photo on right). She will present “Higher Education, Sexual Violence, and the Humanization of Best Practices.” Dr. Griffin is an Assistant Professor of Speech Communication at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She received her doctorate from the University of Denver in Culture and Communication and Diversity in Higher Learning (2008). Her interests include intercultural communication, critical race theory, gender violence, critical pedagogy and black feminist thought.
Online pre-registration is required. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Memorial Union Ballroom, with the conference running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lunch is included (vegetarian option available).
