24-Hour Services


    Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence (CARDV): (541) 754-0110 or 1-800-927-0197 (24 hrs.)
    Trained advocates are available 24 hours a day to take calls, provide support, and extend their services to survivors of rape, sexual assault, or domestic violence. They can assist survivors in finding other resources they may need.
    Good Samaritan Hospital: (541) 768-5021
    Provides the Sexual Assault Forensic Examination (SAFE) kit within 84 hours of assault. 3600 NW Samaritan Drive, Corvallis, OR. The Emergency Room offers medical care 24 hours a day. The hospital does not automatically report the assault to the police, unless the survivor is a minor or over the age of 65.

    Contact Oregon State Police/OSU Department of Public Safety for sexual assault awareness programs, as a resource for questions or comments regarding sexual assault, and/or to file a criminal complaint or to report problems related to assault or harassment.

    Contact the Corvallis Police Department to file a criminal complaint or to report problems related to assault or harassment.

Services During Business Hours


    Sexual Assault Support Services: (8-5, M-F) (541) 737-7604
    SASS is a team of trained and experienced counselors who provide support for female and male survivors of unwanted sexual contact and interpersonal violence. Services are confidential and free for OSU students. SASS counselors can help you explore options concerning what to do if you are a survivor of violence. We can provide information regarding support services on campus and in Corvallis, offer individual or group on-going counseling services, and provide consultation for friends, family, facutly, or staff members seeking information about how to help a survivor. SASS team members can also assist in providing advocacy services on campus for students who choose to involve the police, OSU Student Conduct, the criminal justice system, or other services. SASS is part of University Counseling and Psychological Services.

    University Counseling and Psychological Services provides a variety of services to help students address the challenges and difficulties they face. These difficulties might include academic problems, problems with friends or family, depression, anxiety, procrastination, problems resulting from childhood abuse or sexual assault, low self-esteem, anxiety about dating or sexuality, eating problems or disorders, alcohol or substance misuse, or career indecision. Same-day appointments are available upon request during business hours for students needing immediate assistance

    OSU Student Health Services offers medical support and resources for health concerns that have stemmed from sexual assault. They can provide STD screening and treatment, pregnancy testing and emergency contraception (i.e., the "morning after" pill), and follow-up care. Female and male clinicians are available.

    Affirmative Action Office: (541) 737-3556
    To report sexual harassment, students and staff may file a formal or informal complaint with the Affirmative Action Office. This office provides investigation and resolution to complaints.

    If you need help sorting out your options after an assault, if you have a friend or partner who has been assaulted or if you just need someone to listen, the staff at OSU's Women’s Center will be happy to assist you. Books, resource materials and knowledgeable staff are available for your convenience.
