Take Back the Night March 8:00 – 9 pre march, march begins at 9, Speak Out immediately following.
Take Back the Night originated in Europe as a result of a series of sexual assaults and murders against women. Since then, this march has spread all over the world. Marchers address the issue of violence against women and are especially interested in violence that occurs at night. The march is a way for people to come together and demand the right to have freedom at night and to feel safe. Although this has been a historically women only event, we recognize that women are not the only victims of violence. We invite men to march with us and to take a stand against sexual assault.

The Clothesline Project is a way that people can share their own stories of violence with the public. People can decorate shirts to reflect personal experiences or the experiences of those close to them. The Clothesline Project both helps survivors heal and raises awareness.
