FACULTY SENATE AGENDA

The agenda for the December Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below.

  1. ELECTION RESULTS
    President Leslie Burns will announce the results of the President-Elect and Interinstitutional Faculty Senate elections.

  2. ACTION ITEMS
    1. Approval of Minutes
      Approval of the October Faculty Senate minutes.

    2. Executive Committee Election
      See attached biographical sketches for the Executive Committee candidates. Voting will take place during the meeting by Senators, proxies, and ex-officio members only. Three people will be elected for two-year terms beginning January 2011. Continuing EC members and their apportionment units are: Linda Bruslind, Science; Theo Dreher, Science; and John Selker, Agricultural Sciences. Also joining the Executive Committee is Starr McMullen, from Agricultural and Resource Economics, who is the senior Interinstitutional Faculty Senator.

  3. INTERINSTITUTIONAL FACULTY SENATE REPORT
    Starr McMullen, IFS Senator, will recap the December IFS meeting.

  4. SPECIAL REPORT
    OSU Accreditation Update
    Chris Bell, OSU Accreditation Steering Committee Chair, will provide an update of the university’s required accreditation effort.

  5. INFORMATION ITEMS
    1. New Senator Orientation
      The New Senator Orientation will be held January 13. If you are a continuing Senator, but were not able to attend the orientation when you were elected, please contact Vickie Nunnemaker (vickie.nunnemaker@oregonstate.edu) if you would like to attend the upcoming session.

    2. 2011 Faculty Senate Meetings
      Please reserve the following dates for Faculty Senate meetings for the remainder of the academic year; check your monthly agenda to determine the location. All meetings are scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM:
              January 13, February 10, March 10, April 14, May 12, and June 9.

  6. REPORT FROM AND DIALOG WITH THE PROVOST
    Larry Roper, Vice Provost for Student Affairs, will provide a report on behalf of Provost Randhawa including updates from Academic Affairs and Student Affairs.

  7. REPORT FROM AND DIALOG WITH THE FACULTY SENATE PRESIDENT
    President Leslie Burns

  8. NEW BUSINESS


IN ORDER TO PROPERLY RECORD MINUTES OF THE SENATE MEETING, ALL SENATORS ARE REMINDED TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND THEIR SENATE AFFILIATION WHEN RISING TO SPEAK.
