The agenda for the May Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below.
To be approved are the minutes of the April Senate meeting, as published and distributed to Senators.
Category I Proposals
Kate Hunter-Zaworski and Walt Loveland, Curriculum Council co-chairs, will
present for approval the following Category I proposals:
Standing Rules Proposed Revisions
Sue Tornquist, Committee on Committees Chair, will present for approval proposed revisions to
the following committees: Academic Requirements, Academic Standing, Curriculum Council, Faculty Recognition and
Awards, Library Committee, and Undergraduate
Proposed Revisions to AR 22
David McMurray, Academic Regulations Chair, will present revisions to AR 22.
Luanne Lawrence, Jeff Todd, Mike Goodwin will present plans for the Capital Campaign.
The findings from the recently released Faculty Economic Welfare and Retirement Committee
will be presented. Please note that this report is an update of the
prepared by the Issue Group on Faculty Compensation in 2000.
Coalition On Intercollegiate Athletics (COIA)
Please review the COIA document and share
broadly with your constituents.
The Newly Adopted Academic Integrity in Intercollegiate Athletics: Principles, Proposed Rules,
and Guidelines (2005) document will be discussed at the June 9 Faculty Senate meeting when
voting on membership in the Coalition of Intercollegiate Athletics will occur.
Conflict of Interest Policy
A Conflict of Interest Policy was
recently approved by President Ray and awaits approval by OUS. This policy
is included as information only. Supporting materials related to this policy
are a Briefing Document,
Annual Report Form and a Short Form.
