FACULTY SENATE AGENDA

The agenda for the May Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below. To be approved are the minutes of the April Senate meeting, as published and distributed to Senators.

1. ACTION ITEMS

   1. Category I Proposals

      Kate Hunter-Zaworski and Walt Loveland, Curriculum Council co-chairs, will present for approval the following Category I proposals:
      1. Study Abroad Programs for:
         1. Segovia, Spain
         2. Dublin, Ireland
         3. Rosario, Argentina
      2. Name Change for Department of Rangeland Resources to Rangeland Ecology and Management - budget, strategic plan
      3. School of Education Unit Name Change and Departmental Reorganization - A document describing the differences between a school and college and a historical background of name changes is included for clarification.

   2. Standing Rules Proposed Revisions

      Sue Tornquist, Committee on Committees Chair, will present for approval proposed revisions to the following committees: Academic Requirements, Academic Standing, Curriculum Council, Faculty Recognition and Awards, Library Committee, and Undergraduate Admissions.

   3. Proposed Revisions to AR 22

      David McMurray, Academic Regulations Chair, will present revisions to AR 22.

2. SPECIAL REPORTS

   1. Capital Campaign

      Luanne Lawrence, Jeff Todd, Mike Goodwin will present plans for the Capital Campaign.

3. COMMITTEE REPORTS

   1. Salary Report

      The findings from the recently released Faculty Economic Welfare and Retirement Committee Salary Report will be presented. Please note that this report is an update of the final report prepared by the Issue Group on Faculty Compensation in 2000.

4. INFORMATION ITEMS

   1. Coalition On Intercollegiate Athletics (COIA)

      Please review the COIA document and share broadly with your constituents. The Newly Adopted Academic Integrity in Intercollegiate Athletics: Principles, Proposed Rules, and Guidelines (2005) document will be discussed at the June 9 Faculty Senate meeting when voting on membership in the Coalition of Intercollegiate Athletics will occur.

   2. Conflict of Interest Policy

      A Conflict of Interest Policy was recently approved by President Ray and awaits approval by OUS. This policy is included as information only. Supporting materials related to this policy are a Briefing Document, Annual Report Form and a Short Form.
