| The agenda for the October Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below. | |
Standing Rules Revisions Proposed Standing Rules revisions for the following committees will be presented: Academic Advising Council, Academic Requirements Committee, Faculty Status Committee, Graduate Admissions Committee, and Student Recognition and Awards Committee. B. COMMITTTEE REPORT Bylaws and Nominations Committee Nancy Rosenberger, Chair, will discuss the nomination process for Faculty Senate President-Elect and Executive Committee, and Interinstitutional Faculty Senators. C. SPECIAL REPORT Depression and Suicide in College Students - Signs and Symptoms Suicide is the second leading cause of death in college student populations. Ross Artwohl, MSW, a staff therapist with University Counseling & Psychological Services, will provide information to assist Senators in recognizing the warning signs of suicide, and its correlate, depression. Suggestions on how to intervene and where to refer the student-at-risk will be provided.
