- National Survey of Student Engagement Results
Rebecca Sanderson, Director of Student Affairs Research and Evaluation, will
report on the results from the 2002 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE).
The NSSE surveys first-year and senior students concerning their level of engagement
in empirically derived good educational practices. The NSSE is given to thousands of
college students annually, is used by many state systems as an on-going metric, and
compares OSU results with other Doctoral Research Extensive universities. Departments,
programs, and other faculty groups are invited to use the information for more in-depth
discussions.

Nomination forms are required and can be requested from the Faculty Senate Office
at faculty.senate@orst.edu.
- Committee Interest Forms
Committee Interest Forms for University and Faculty Senate committees and councils
will be available shortly after Spring Break. The forms will once again be available
online and can either be submitted electronically or via paper. A message will be
sent to all OSU employees indicating the URL. When possible, Faculty Senate committee/council
members are selected from those who respond to the Committee Interest Form. Please
consider volunteering for committees. Standing Rules for each Faculty Senate
committee/council can be found at http://osu.orst.edu/dept/senate/committees/index.html. Please contact the
Faculty Senate Office ( faculty.senate@orst.edu) if you have difficulty accessing
the form.
- AAUP/AOF/IFS Joint Meeting
The annual AAUP/AOF/IFS Joint Meeting will be May 3 at the CH2M-HILL Alumni Center.
Details will be announced later in April.
