Len Friedman, Curriculum Council Chair, will present for approval the Master of Public Policy Category I proposal.

Approval of Robert Iltis, Department of Speech Communication, as Faculty Senate Parliamentarian.
B. DISCUSSION ITEM
1. Research Compliance Issues
Toby Hayes, Peggy Lowery and Anthony Wilcox of the Research Compliance Executive Committee will discuss research compliance issues. Handouts regarding this discussion item will be available at the meeting.
C. SPECIAL REPORTS
1. Faculty Senate Election Results
Ken Williamson, Ballot Counting Chair, will report on the outcome of the election for Faculty Senate President-Elect and Interinstitutional Faculty Senate Senator.
2. Legislative Issues
Jock Mills, Director of Government Relations, will report on legislative issues, with particular emphasis on higher education.
3. Higher Education Budget
Mark Nelson, Association of Oregon Faculties Lobbyist, will report on the proposed Higher Education Budget and its possible impacts.
4. OSU Accreditation
Robert Burton, Accreditation Steering Committee Chair, will report on the university's accreditation process.
D. INFORMATION ITEMS
1. Faculty Awards Deadlines
February 5 is the deadline for submitting nominations for the OSU Distinguished Service Award and March 1 is the deadline for submitting nominations for the following awards: Richard M. Bressler Senior Faculty Teaching Award, D. Curtis Mumford Faculty Service Award, OSU Alumni Association Distinguished Professor Award, OSU Extended Education Faculty Achievement Award, OSU Faculty Teaching Excellence Award, OSU Professional Faculty Excellence Award, Outstanding Faculty Research Assistant Award, Dar Reese Excellence in Advising Award, and the Elizabeth P. Ritchey Distinguished Professor Award.
Criteria for these awards is available on the web at: http://osu.orst.edu/dept/senate/awards. Nominations are to be submitted to the Faculty Recognition and Awards Committee, in care of the Faculty Senate Office.
2. Joint Meeting
The joint AAUP, AOF, IFS meeting will be held April 7on the OSU campus from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m in the CH2M HILL Alumni Center. The speakers have not yet been finalized.
