The agenda for the March Senate meeting will include the reports and other items of business listed below. To be approved are the minutes of the February Senate meeting, as published and distributed to Senators.

  1. ACTION ITEM
    1. Academic Regulations Proposed Changes
      Joe Kerkvliet, Academic Regulations Chair, will present proposed changes to Academic Regulations 10 and 23.

  2. DISCUSSION ITEMS
    1. Academic Regulations
      Joe Kerkvliet, Academic Regulations Chair, will discuss proposed changes to Academic Regulations 17, 18, and 19.

    2. Final Exam Schedules
      As a result of a request at the December Faculty Senate meeting, Barbara Balz, Registrar, will discuss the issue of adding a half hour between each scheduled final exam.

    3. Difference, Power and Discrimination Task Force
      Alexis Walker, Task Force Chair, will discuss activities of the group. Drafts of the proposed Baccalaureate Core Narrative: Difference, Power, and Discrimination and Difference, Power, and Discrimination Criteria will be discussed.

  3. COMMITTEE REPORT
    1. Faculty Mediation Committee
      Susan Longerbeam, Chair, and committee member Bill Oye will explain the purpose of the committee.

  4. INFORMATION ITEMS
    1. Faulty Awards Deadline
      The deadline for submitting nominations selected by the Faculty Recognition and Awards Committee is March 6. Criteria for these awards may be obtained on the web at http://osu.orst.edu/dept/senate/awards/

    2. Fireside Chat
      President Paul G. Risser invites Staff and Faculty to share ideas, ask questions, and engage in lively conversation about Oregon State University on Tuesday, April 11, from 3:00 - 4:00 PM in the MU Lounge.

    3. Committee Interest Forms
      Committee Interest Forms for university and Faculty Senate committees will be distributed about mid-March and due back in the Faculty Senate Office in early April. Faculty Senate committee/council members are selected from those who respond to the Committee Interest Form. Please consider volunteering for committees. Standing Rules for each committee can be found at http://osu.orst.edu/dept/senate/committees.

    4. Joint Meeting
      The joint AAUP, AOF, IFS meeting will be held on April 29 on the OSU campus. The location and speakers will be announced shortly.
