- Category I Proposal (pp. 1-32)
Bob Burton, Curriculum Council Chair, will present a Category I proposal for Providing an Existing Program (Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Management with a Concentration in Dietetics Management) at new locations.
Summary - The Executive Committee has reviewed the proposal to extend the existing M.S. in Nutrition and Food Management to selected remote sites. The proposal was also reviewed by the Curriculum Council and Graduate Council. Some concerns were expressed about the distance education delivery methods, and the Department of Nutrition and Food Management has agreed to provide an annual report concerning its methods of electronic delivery. The Graduate Council will review the NFM distance education M.S. program within three years. General questions exist about costs, administrative structures, instructor-student interactions, access to library resources, and electronic delivery methods in distance education, and these questions can best be resolved with more experience in programs such as this one. The EC therefore supports this proposal with the monitoring and reporting procedures that have been established.
