Update for Windows Vista

Microsoft periodically releases security patches for Windows operating systems. Downloading and installing these updates will help protect your computer from viruses and threats.

Running Windows Update can only be done after you have registered your computer. If you haven't registered, please save these steps and complete them after your computer has been registered.

Installing Critical Updates

  1. Click the Start circle at the bottom left of your desktop.
  2. Click the button labeled All Programs
  3. In the menu that appears, select the option titled Windows Update.
  4. Press the Check for Updates button.

Windows will inform you that it is checking for updates.
This process may take several minutes.
  5. When the process is complete, you will be given the option to install any avaiable updates.
It is recommended that you enable automatic updates. To do so, click the Change Settings button located below the Check for Updates option.
In the screen that appears, ensure that the Install updates automatically (recommended) option is selected.
  6. Lastly, press the OK button to confirm your selection.
