By opening a menu on your computer screen, you can quickly determine what OS your computer is running.
Click on the "Start" button in the bottom–left corner of the screen. This will open the "Start" menu, which should look like one of the options below:

Click on the Apple icon in the top–left corner of the screen, on the menu bar. This will display a pull–down menu similar to one below:
