Symantec Antivirus (SAV) and Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP)

Antivirus software helps protect your computer from viruses and worms. The worst viruses and worms can make your computer inoperable. The University has a site license for Symantec Antivirus (partially funded by the Technology Resource Fee). So, all students can install and update it for free.

Note: The newest version of SAV for Windows (ver. 11) is now called Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP)

ALERT!! Symantec Antivirus Vulnerability

There is a serious vulnerability in some older versions of SAV 10 that if exploited could potentially cause a system crash or allow a remote or local attacker to execute arbitrary code with System level rights on the affected system. Please install the latest Symantec Antivirus version (below) to protect your computer.

Download & Install Symantec Antivirus

1. Important: If you have another antivirus program currently installed on your computer, uninstall it first.
2. Click the appropriate link below for your computer's operating system, login with your ONID account, and save the setup file to your computer.
• Download SEP for Windows Vista/XP/2000
• Download SAV for Mac OS
3. Once the file is saved double-click the downloaded file and follow the installation instructions.
