Description:
The invention pertains to a device and methods of using fish chromatophores together with inimate support and measurement components to detect bioactive compounds, and machines for practicing such methods. The bioactive compounds of the invention detect the presence of an impurity, and can sense its presence without identifying it.
Applications:
The invention can replace or substantially reduce the use of animal testing of products in industries such as food, cosmetics, drugs by color change of a fish chromatophore.
