Description:
Described are force-displacement characteristics to understand the kinematic behavior of the healthy, non-impaired shoulder to derive information concerning joint laxity and stiffness. These two variables are key to the clinical examination of an injured shoulder.  An orthopedic surgeon can use the data to diagnose and treat shoulder injury and effectively treat the problem.
Applications:
Medical diagnosis and efficacious treatment of shoulder injury. Characterization of glenohumeral joint laxity and stiffness in healthy and clinically unstable shoulders.
