Description:   This invention relates to antibiotic biosythesis genes from the soill actinomycete, in particular to a pyralomycin gene cluster and the characterization of the individual genes in the gene cluster and the proteins.  The invention holds incredible potential to develop the novel aminocyclitol and halogenases from pyralomicin biosynthetic gene cluster as tools in drug development.
