2008 Summer Session $1,834 plus additional $200 per credit hour over 9 hours.
2008 - 2009 Academic Year Cost Per Term: $3,132*
*NOTE: Reasonable increases should be built into future year tuition costs. All proposals will be charged actual tuition.
This look-up table was developed in order to provide an easy method for calculating fringe benefits. The percentages reflect the estimated current year benefits. Allow reasonable percent increases in fringe benefits for future years.
To use: Use the fringe benefit rate for the salary specified in the table (i.e., a person whose total monthly salary from all sources is $2,600 would use the fringe benefit rate of 67% for the first year of a proposal with a start date within FY 07-08.)
The rates below should be utilized for classified and unclassified positions where effort is .5 FTE or greater. Utilize the Exceptions to the Fringe Benefit Rates below, as appropriate, for positions that are less than .5 FTE.

1. Disclaimer: The 25% rate
applies only to those employees who are triple charged during the academic
year so your medical benefits are covered in the summer. If you are
not triple charged in the academic year, then you would use your regular
academic fringe rate. Check with your department accountant if you are
unsure whether you are tripled charged in the academic year.
2. Employees not eligible for PERS have a rate of 10%.
3. For fringe rates for Federal appointments see Budget Office table
located at http://oregonstate.edu/dept/budgets/budghand/tables.htm.
4. Graduate Assistant health insurance is estimated at $485 per term
for academic year 2007-2008 and summer term. Average annual increases
in health insurance are estimated at 11% and increases for out-years
should be budgeted. For more information on Graduate Assistant health
insurance see the Student Health Services web site located at http://studenthealth.oregonstate.edu/insurance/
5. Students are charged $3.12 per month unless they are taking less
than 6 credits (undergraduate) or 5 credits (graduate), then they are
charged FICA and Medicare.
Proposal budgets may also
be calculated using actual fringe benefit rates. If the actual benefit
rates are used, allow some inflation for future year increases (future
year increases allow for the possibility of a rate change or the change
of an employee). If actual fringe benefit rates are used your proposal
budget should so indicate, otherwise, budgets are checked using the
rate table percentages and a lower rate would prompt a call to you for
clarification. The Budget office has current benefit rates located at
http://oregonstate.edu/dept/budgets/budghand/tables.htm
Graduate Assistant Appointments***
