Educational Requirements

For the Use of Animals in Research, Teaching, or Testing

POLICY: All faculty, staff, and students who use or work with live vertebrate animals in research, teaching, or testing are required to complete training on the regulations and principles of animal use in research and teaching. There are prescribed resources to meet the educational requirements. Documentation of completion of this training will be required for a Principal Investigator and all personnel listed on a proposal or instructor in a course prior to approval of an Animal Care and Use Proposal for that research project or course. Re-certification is required every 5 years.
