Managing the intellectual property (IP) and contracts database, Susan ensures accuracy, completeness and availability of OCCD data. She also manages the reporting and tracking of federally funded inventions and patents, in compliance with the regulations of the Bayh-Dole Act.

Before joining OSU in 2010, Susan worked for five years as IP & Corporate Paralegal for Strands, Inc., a local start-up founded in 2004 by OSU affiliates, which raised $55M in venture funds in 2008.  In 2011, Apple Inc. acquired 32 patents and/or patent applications from the IP portfolio that Susan had managed.  She earned a Paralegal Certificate from University of Washington in 2004, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Oregon State University in 1992.
