David Dickson

David joined the OCCD in 2013 and works primarily with the College of Engineering to facilitate invention disclosures, intellectual property protection, and licensing agreements.

David’s background is broadly in biological and renewable forms of energy as well as material science, having earned his PhD in Biological & Ecological Engineering at Oregon State University conducting research on encapsulation and hydrogen production from cyanobacteria. David first became interested in commercialization and technology transfer during graduate school when he sought IP protection for innovations developed in his research. David also holds a MS in Materials Science from OSU and a BS in Environmental Engineering from Yale University, and comes to the OCCD with experience as a consulting engineer, postdoctoral researcher, and academic advisor.
