Institutional Review Board
The mission of the Oregon State University Institutional Review Board (IRB) is to ![]()
promote the rights and welfare of human research participants, facilitate ethical research, provide guidance and support to the research community in the conduct of research with human subjects, and to assist the research community in ensuring compliance with the standards set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
To fulfill the agreement underlying OSU’s federal assurance, and to satisfy institutional policy, all faculty and staff must submit for IRB review any research project involving human subjects. IRB approval for these projects must be granted prior to the initiation of any study activities, including recruitment or analysis of existing data.
