The Research Office is requesting Letters of Intent for the National Institutes of Health – NCMHD Community Participation in Health Disparities Intervention Research Planning Phase (R24) program.

Only one (1) application per institution will be accepted by NIH.

In an effort to provide the highest level of excellence and viability for funding, the Office of the Vice President for Research will select the proposal to represent Oregon State University and to submit their proposal to the NIH program.

The NIH National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD) has designated up to $7 million for Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) planning grants to support community participation in health disparities intervention research. This limited competition solicits applications to support intervention research on health disparities that is jointly conducted by communities and researchers.
Guidance for preparation of Letter of Intent to the Research Office:

    • Title of Project
    • PI/Co-PI(s)
    • Define the relevant community or communities for your study
    • Describe an existing or proposed involvement with one or more community-based organizations
    • Describe the means of establishing effective input from the community on matters such as priority areas of health or plausible approaches and constraints in addressing health concerns
    • Letters on intent are limited to 2 pages
    • Be submitted electronically as a MSWord or PDF document to:  debbie.delmore@oregonstate.edu
