The Incentive Funds Program in the Research Office is requesting Letters of Intent for the National Science Foundation – Geoscience Education (GeoEd) program.

Research Office Letter of Intent submission deadline for Track 2 proposals:  Tuesday, September 6, 2011
Information:  Debbie Delmore at debbie.delmore@oregonstate.edu or (541) 737-8390
The program limits to one (1) the number of proposals that can be submitted by Oregon State University as the lead organization on Track 2 proposals. There are two GeoEd tracks in this solicitation: Track 1 Pilot Projects and Track 2 Integrative Collaborations.
An individual may be Principal Investigator or co-Principal Investigator on only one proposal regardless of whether the proposal is submitted under Track 1 or Track 2.

In an effort to provide the highest level of excellence and viability for funding, a review process will be put in place if more than one Track 2 proposal is submitted. The finalist will be asked to represent Oregon State University and to submit their proposals to the NSF-GeoEd program.

The GeoEd program seeks to increase public understanding of Earth system science and foster recruitment, training and retention of a diverse and skilled geosciences workforce for the future. The program achieves these goals by supporting innovative or transformative projects that improve the quality and effectiveness of formal and informal geosciences education at all educational levels, increase the number of students pursuing geosciences education and career paths, broaden participation of traditionally underrepresented groups in the geosciences, and promote public engagement in Earth system science.
NSF Full Proposal Deadline:  October 12, 2011
