FAQ: What is a conflict of commitment (COC)?
What is a conflict of commitment (COC)?
A conflict of commitment occurs when the time an individual spends engaged in activities outside of the University competes with the time required to conduct University activities.
The potential for conflicts of commitment and the rules for obtaining approval to conduct activities during University time are addressed in the Conflict of Commitment Policy, overseen by Office of Academic Affairs, and found on the HR website: http://oregonstate.edu/admin/hr/document/pdf/conflict-commitment-policy.
